Community Guidelines
This is a directory for neighbours and the businesses they use. These are the rules that keep it worth reading.
Effective August 29, 2026
Be a real person
Use your real name and represent yourself honestly. Do not impersonate somebody else, invent a persona to attack a business, or run several accounts to make an opinion look more popular than it is.
If you post on behalf of a business, be open about it. Claiming a business listing you have no connection to is not permitted, and we will reverse it.
Ratings have to be honest
A local directory is only useful if its ratings mean something. So:
- Rate only businesses you have actually dealt with.
- Do not rate your own business, or a business you work for or have a stake in. The site blocks owners and team members from rating their own listing.
- Do not rate a competitor in order to damage them.
- Do not offer, request or accept anything in exchange for a rating — not discounts, not free items, not favours.
- Do not ask friends or family to post ratings for a business they have not used.
A bad experience honestly described is welcome, and businesses should expect to see it. A campaign against a business is not.
Keep it civil
Not allowed:
- Harassment, bullying, or repeatedly targeting somebody.
- Attacks on people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age.
- Threats of violence against anyone, or encouraging others to make them.
- Sharing somebody’s private information — home address, phone number, workplace — without their consent.
- Sexual content, or content involving minors in any sexual context.
Disagreeing strongly is fine. Disagreeing with a neighbour is normal. Making somebody afraid to be in their own community is not.
Do not mislead people
- Do not post information you know to be false, particularly about a local business, a public safety matter or an event.
- Do not post scams, phishing links, pyramid schemes or fake job listings.
- Do not advertise a business by pretending to be a satisfied customer.
- Do not post links that go somewhere other than where they appear to go.
Job postings must be real openings at a real business, with a genuine way to apply. Fake listings that harvest personal information are removed immediately and the account is closed.
Promotion: welcome, in the right place
Businesses are meant to promote themselves here — that is what the feed, offers and events are for. What is not welcome is the same post repeated over and over, promotion pushed into unrelated conversations, or comment sections used as advertising space.
A good rule: if you are posting about your own business, post it from your business account, and post something a neighbour would actually want to read.
Post only what is yours
Photos, text and video you post must be yours or used with permission. Do not upload other businesses’ photography, stock images you have not licensed, or somebody else’s writing.
If you believe your work has been posted here without permission, see Copyright & Listing Removal.
How moderation works
Content is not reviewed before it is published. When something is reported, a moderator looks at it and can remove it, ask you to change it, or restrict the account. Every moderator action is recorded.
Typically: a first, minor problem gets the content removed and an explanation. Repeated problems restrict the account. Serious conduct — threats, illegal content, impersonation, attacks on the service — ends the account immediately.
If we got it wrong, say so. Email support@imeaneverything.ai and a human will look again. The automatic word filter in particular is imprecise and does sometimes catch legitimate business names — there is a review request button in your business dashboard for exactly that.
Reporting something
Email support@imeaneverything.ai with a link to the content and a short description of the problem. If somebody is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first — we are not an emergency service and cannot respond at that speed.
